CREF presents an exuberant cultural display of multiculturalism in Australia says Hon Chris Hayes, Member Federal Parliament

‘It gives me great pleasure to be a part of the Chand Raat Eid Festival for 2012, marking its 14^th annual anniversary and to have the honour of providing this message to CREF 2012 publication.’

‘For many years our communities have celebrated the Chand Raat Eid Festival which provides an opportunity for families from far distances to get together to enjoy exhibits of art, culture, fashion and to enjoy a variety of food, music and entertainment.’

‘The celebration marks the end of the Ramadan and captures the optimistic spirit of the Eid Eve Celebration which is time of intense spiritual renew, a time to reflect on one’s life, friendship, happiness, love and forgiveness.’

‘The Chand Raat Eid Festival presents an exuberant cultural display of multiculturalism in Australia, and I am proud as the Federal Member of Fowler to represent the most culturally diverse community. We are very fortunate to have such a dedicated and active multicultural community, and on which works tirelessly in promoting tolerance and inclusion.’

‘I would like to acknowledge and extend a big thank you to the organising committee involved in the Chand Raat Eid Festival for their work and excellent job. It is through their dedication and commitment that brings communities together for this very special occasion.’
